Thumbnails says "unsubscribed or banned"?

Hi!

I was making use of Shrinktheweb from within the directorypress theme and it was working fine a week or so ago.

Now I don't see any thunbnails but a printmark which says "banned or unsubscribed". I haven't unsubscribed and I haven't done anything I am aware of (the site is new and almost empty and and it only contains legitimate posts).

We will have to send out an announcement soon, but basically you need to remove any thumbnails in the cache folder back to 09/14/2011.

It appears that many plugins do not properly use the "advanced method" API and they end up caching the error message thumbnails, unfortunately. That is something that the author(s) of the plugins must correct via an update.

Do you mean I have to delete the text files in wp-content/themes/dp/thumbs/cache ?

I created I new post for testing on 09/16/ but it doesn't show up, again that same printmark..

No, they should be .jpg files.

In short, your account looks OK.

If it is happening on new posts too, then there may be an issue with how the plugin communicates with our service. A lot of people seem to be getting that but I do not have enough information to know if it's bad code in the plugin or a "bug" in our code.

You may want to contact the author of DirectoryPress and begin a dialog about the error.

I have also passed this on to our tech support team to contact DirectoryPress and see if we can move things along quickly to get to the bottom of it.

It happens by me at http://besttravelwebsites.com with the new listings (new thumbnails) so it is not a cashing problem.

I am having the same problem on my site that I just changed to the Shrink the Web API service this morning. I did submit a support ticket, but haven't heard anything back yet.

Currently, All of my screenshot images show "Unsubscribed or Banned" ~ I have no idea what to do or how to fix this. Did this ever get resolved? I visited the site above and see the same images on their site.

This isn't resolved yet, although my support team tells me that it has ended up being a "Lock to Account" misconfiguration in every case so far.

However, we are working with DirectoryPress to ensure that there is not a problem with the service. Currently, it does not appear that there is a problem on our side. We will update this thread once we know for certain.

Also, in case the documentation (which needs updating) isn't clear yet; the non "Preview Verification Page" methods (i.e. IMG SRC and "Advanced Method API") will not work once we enforce several changes that are coming soon. Just FYI...

It seems your support team was right. I have added the hosting IP (NOT domain) in the "Lock to Account" list and now it shows the images again.

Ok, so it's a lock to account issue.

Sounds fixable, so what do I do now? I did submit a support ticket earlier...plus I left a phone message. I signed up for the free service at the moment, and am more than willing to upgrade to a paid account, but have no idea what exactly I need to sign up for (there are alot of options!) If someone can just give me instructions, point me in the right direction, etc, I'll do it asap. The 'support tickets' are coming in to me on my site now that all my member listings show the Unsubsribed/banned image and my members are confused as to why I've done this to them. I'd love to get it fixed quickly...

That will explain "Lock to Account" and how to ping for your IP and add it.

Issues that are already handled in the forum/etc are considered lower priority and may not be responded to as quickly. See if you can ping your website and add that IP to the Security area of your account.

A "PLUS Account" upgrade ($9.95/month) is what you would need as a minimum, but since we are not yet enforcing the "Preview Verification Page" (for this exact reason), you could wait until we do announce the billing system and then get by with a "Basic Account" upgrade ($4.95/month).

Hello,

I am having the same issue with all of my directorypress sites as well. I tried to enter IP instead of URL in the Lock Account - I even tried to just uncheck the Lock Account and nothing seems to work. I have a support ticket filled out as well as put a call in - If anything more progresses to a resolution please keep us updated.
