Ah, I see.

This makes sense now. If you put &inside=1 on a page that is not truly an inside page, the system looks in the wrong place.

I would have to discuss this with phpLD to see if there's a way to "mark" a domain in their system, but putting inside=1 on ALL listings is a bad idea.

This is because even if I coded my system to account for this, you would have to wait for every domain to capture --even if it already exists on the server as domain.tld.com.jpg. This is due to the required naming convention of website thumbnails.

So, the only viable solution is to only request &inside=1 on pages that really are inside pages. Otherwise, you'll never get the correct image on regular URLs. However, as I mentioned, there is no easy way inside of phpLD that I can think of to mark which domains would get the inside tag versus not.

I will talk to David of phpLD and see what he has to suggest.

Best regards,

Brandon

I should also mention that this URL:
http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click?p(63913)a(1502388)g(17097778)
won't work for generating thumbnails because that affiliate program vendor uses ( and ) in the URL but they don't support url-encoding. That means that very few systems can actually parse their links without breaking their own scripts.

I thought I'd mention it, in case you noticed a few of your affiliate links weren't working. That is why. They need to change their affiliate links to be more compatible with standard programming practices. I pondered for a bit how to overcome this, but it would require bad coding on our part and I don't want to have bad coding to fix bad coding. Wink

Best regards,

Brandon

Ok, this IS possible with a little mod. I have copied it here and put the appropriate shrinktheweb code for copy/paste to avoid confusion.

I'm actually going to post this in its own thread to keep this one clean and to help others who are looking for the same thing to find it easily.

Integrating STW Thumbnails into phpLD

Thanks,

Due to high demand and to keep various software companies from having to support mods to their software, I am pleased to announce that &inside=1 now supports regular domain/subdomain requests.

For instance: Before when you requested msn.com using an inside tag,
&inside=1&Url=msn.com
you would always see a "Thumbnail Queued" message that would never go away.

So, if you needed to put &inside=1 into your template but you have no easy way to put &inside=1 only on the inside pages and NOT on the normal domain/subdomain pages, you would get that thumbnail. You basically were forced to use one or the other. You could not mix types of domain requests (i.e. inside pages and normal domains) using the &inside tag. Now, you can.

Now, I have added support for this case and will return the standard domain/subdomain thumbnail in the case that you request it but have &inside=1 in the request.

Please keep in mind that &inside=1 is a PRO feature and if you don't upgrade, then requesting even normal domains using &inside=1 will show "invalid credentials" errors.

So, this is only if you need/want to show specific "inside" pages of a domain and already subscribe to the specific page PRO feature.

I tried to modify the code as described here

<img src="http://www.shrinktheweb.com/xino.php?embed=1&stwu=5cd05&STWAccessKeyId=[key]&inside=1&Size=lg&stwUrl={$link.URL|escape|trim}" border="0" alt="{$link.TITLE|escape|trim}" width="80" height="60" border="0">

but all i get is this

when I remove &inside=1, everything works fine again.

But I offer submission of myspace pages and it would be great is inside pages would be displayed, and not only homepages

???

Hello huskyblack,

The "inside pages" feature is a PRO feature. Pricing for PRO features is very reasonable. Here is the BASIC vs. PRO comparison:

Yeah, didn't realize it is only for PRO version.
