This is really very weird. How is that neither Google nor Bing detect the "malicious software"? The thumbnail software detects something but what? It could be a false positive or not? What's the response from the software? A bug perhaps?
For this test, we use the Mozilla toolkit repository. They maintain a database of listed websites that are reported as malicious. Whatever site you are attempting to capture has been reported to that database.
Therefore, yes, it could be a false positive.
The message provided is the response from the software.
No. It is not a bug.
There have been no reports (out of many millions of requests) of this feature not working and we do not code for individual URLs. So if it is not a widespread problem or there are not at least a handful of URLs that all work but yield the same issue; then it is not investigated.
Typically, any false positives will be cleared on their own, over time. You may also be able to contact Mozilla about the issue and ask if there is a way to get the site removed from their "MALWARE" database.
Thanks a lot for your reply,
No, definitely this is a false positive or a gremlin playing somewhere. I have checked the site using a bunch of tools and it is not Blacklisted and has No Malware, No Malicious javascript, No Malicious iFrames, No Drive-By Downloads, No Anomaly detection, No IE-only attacks, No Suspicious redirections, No Spam, No SQL injection vulnerabilities, and so on and so on.
I have also checked 3 subdomains with same results. As you say it will be cleared over time, but I guess it will be wise to ask Mozilla. Do you know where or how to address the petition? I did search but found nothing.
regards
Sorry. I do not know.
Out of curiosity, though, did you request a refresh of the domain? If not, try that (it's free from within the portal) because it might refresh properly --if it has been cleared since the initial capture.
