I noticed that my instructions for using xlg thumbnails omitted one step, so users who tried that were actually stretching lg thumbnails to fit in the xlg space, which looked bad. Sad

I have updated my instructions and the revised version is in the first post of this thread. Sorry for the confusion!! Smile

Best regards,

Brandon

Hey Brandon

If I add any "pro" variables to the javascript call, will it still work?

I'm after the &inside one in particular as a lot of the sites I link to also point to internal pages.

Cheers
Stephen

Yes, if you manually change the URL to add in PRO feature parameters (as long as they are BEFORE &stwurl), that will work.

A few questions/bugs
.
.

1.) When using this plugin, even though the thumbnail is not displayed until mouseover on a link, when does the thumbnail actually get rendered/fetched? When the page loads? Or not until mouseover?
.
.

2.) I am using xlg size thumbnails with the xlg size bubbles, but the xlg size bubbles are bigger than the thumbnails, and cutting off at the sides (screenshot).
.
.

3.) In chrome, I'm having two bugs that I don't have in any other browsers:
.
.

a.) The first bug, is that if you mouseover the same link more than once, the thumbnail only appears the first time. On the second, third, etc... mouseovers, the thumbnail doesn't appear (the bubble does still appear). This only happens with chrome.
.
.

b.) The second bug, is that that that my site's anonymous outbound link referrer (anonym.to) appears as the thumbnail image, instead of the link's destination. This only happens with chrome.

Hello,

1) I am not sure. I would guess that it loads at page load time.

2) The bubbles shown in your screenshot do not look like our mouseover bubbles. Take a look at our demo page for an example of our mouseover bubbles. It could be that different bubbles are provided in the mouseover download code, but it's been years since anyone has looked at that code. We are just now getting around to critical issues and the mouseover code is near the bottom of the to-do list.

3) I doubt this mouseover code was ever tested on Chrome. I think we released it before Chrome was officially released. Regardless, this is not high on our priority list, since we have many critical and urgent issues to tend to first.

I took a look at the files included in the mouseover download and it does look like those popups were user-supplied. I doubt they were tested thoroughly and are only provided for convenience.

I remember, way back when, that some users wanted to host the popup code themselves and not have a ShrinkTheWeb "branded" mouseover popup. This was our quick solution for those users.

Ok. I was using the downloaded files from "Download a Mouseover Preview Popup Bubble Script" on the plugin page, so that's where the bubbles came from.

Is there an option for paid users to use a non-branded version of your bubble "Install a Mouseover Preview Popup Bubble Widget"? Or an option to pay for a non-branded version? I'd gladly pay extra for a non-branded version.

No. That is "on the list" and has been requested years ago, but as I mentioned, it is way down on a very long list of things to do.

Ok sir. Thanks for the prompt responses today. This helped me continue working on this today.
